Many thanks to Garrett R. Fregault for sharing his research from the National Archives.  These are scans of the original war-time regimental reports and documents of the 325th GIR.

These lists were composed during the war, after the Normandy and Market-Garden battles.  By the time the awards were made, some soldiers had been promoted and thus the rank indicated may or may not have been the rank at the time of the battle.  Also, during war, some mistakes of spelling or serial numbers were made, so please keep this in mind when reviewing the lists.

The Bronze Arrowhead Award list (denotes participating in glider landing or assault - to be worn on the European-African-Mediteranean Campaign Ribbon) includes both officers and enlisted men who were awarded the bronze arrowhead for those landings.

The Good Conduct Award was issued exclusively to enlisted men who distinguished themselves by exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity throughout a one year period of service (3 years during peacetime).  This list was comprised and the awards issued in August of 1944.

The field orders issued to the 325th Glider Infantry for the Normandy Invasion, codenamed Operation Neptune.  The glider drops were given codenames after cities: Detroit, Elmira, and Galveston.  Amazingly, the field orders issued to the 325th are only 4 pages long.

Also included is the Glider Air Movement Table, detailing the number of gliders, glider type assigned to each transport, and the airfield from which they would be departing.

Neptune Air Movement Table

The S-2 was the designation of the Regimental Intelligence Officer, Capt. Michael K. Berkut.  Dated from June 7, 1944 to June 22, 1944, this is the journal of the intelligence reports and activities complied by the 325th and recorded by Capt. Berkut.  The document is 18 pages long.  It offers a unique insight into the daily activies of the 325th during Operation Neptune, which was the code name applied to the airborne operations of the Normandy Campaign.
